Beat the Backlist 2023
Beat the Backlist is a yearly reading challenge hosted by Austine Decker. The goal is to help participants read some of the books lingering on their TBR stacks from years past. There are (optional) reading prompts to help motivate or increase the fun. You can follow my challenge progress on this page, which I update monthly.
Read Harder 2023
Read Harder is hosted by BookRiot and contains a list of 24 prompts. These will help participants read more thoughtfully and diversely. I started using a reading tracker spreadsheet that included the prompts, so I figured I’d give it a try. Check out my progress here.
TTT Bookish Goals Challenge for 2023
This is more of a self-challenge. These goals first appeared in my Top Ten Tuesday post back in January called Bookish Goals for 2023.
Reading Goals: 150 Books
As of the beginning of October, I’ve already exceeded this goal and read 192 books.
Backlist Reading Goals
Goal: 3-5 Classics. So far this year, I’ve read ANIMAL FARM, LITTLE WOMEN, and THE BIRCHBARK HOUSE. I also reread THE GIVER.
Goal: 3-5 backlist Nonfiction titles: So far, I’ve read CASTE by Isabel Wilkerson, ALL BOYS AREN’T BLUE by George M. Johnson, and MEG, JO, BETH, AND AMY by Amy Boyd Rioux.
Goal: 10-12 Backlist titles: I’ve read about 54 backlist titles so far this year. 17 of them are backlist books I agreed to review or that were sent to me when I agreed to review the second book in the series.
Beat the Backlist: I joined the Beat the Backlist 2023 Reading Challenge and have tracked the books I’ve read for those prompts on that page.
Book Riot’s Read Hard(er) 2023 Challenge: I also joined Book Riot’s Read Hard(er) 2023 Reading Challenge. The books I’ve counted toward those prompts are listed on the page linked above.
